Dr Patrick de Waal
MBChB, FCS (ORL), FRACS
Dr de Waal studied medicine at the University of Cape Town graduating in 1992. He undertook specialist training in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at Groote Schuur Hospital and the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital in Cape Town, gaining his Fellowship in 2002.
During 2004, he worked as an ENT consultant at a large NHS hospital in Northern Ireland, UK. He subsequently worked in private practice in Somerset West near Cape Town.
Moving to Australia in 2017 he settled in the beautiful Coffs Coast. He gained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2018. He is a member of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head Neck Surgery (ASOHNS)
He has published articles in international journals and regularly attends courses and congresses in Australia, the UK, France, USA and South Africa.
He has appointments at the Coffs Harbour Base Hospital as a visiting medical officer (VMO), as well as at Baringa Private Hospital.
He is committed to provide quality ear, nose and throat care to patients in regional New South Wales.
